The role of the UNIX Administrator is to provide high level technical support and management of our client’s UNIX environment.
It is expected that the UNIX Administrator would have a minimum of five years UNIX admin experience, particular AIX, with knowledge and experience in high availability and san technologies as well as possess sound knowledge of TCP/IP networks and be able to design, install, configure and troubleshoot at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- administer the corporate UNIX environments, ensuring high availability & performance through appropriate change/release management;
- provide design and implementation advice to the in-house application developers, as well as working productively with the database administration team;
- monitor and support the server & storage infrastructure;
- project manage and implement new solutions;provide appropriate technical documentation.
Skills
- proven UNIX administration experience supporting large mission critical 24×7 systems in a highly secure environment, specialising in AIX;
- proven knowledge and exposure to IBM’s High Availability Cluster Multiprocessing (HACMP);
- knowledge of IBM’s Advanced POWER Virtualization System (VIOS)
- proven change management skills especially in regard to mission critical 24×7 systems in a highly secure environment;
