An expanding iron ore mining company needs a Chief Mine Geologist to join their Northern Territory operations. You will be based in Perth looking to fly in, fly out to Darwin, or you will be willing to relocate from Darwin, and work close to home. This is a great chance to for a Senior Mine Geologist to step into a Chief role, providing opportunities for leadership, mentorship, managerial and career progression.
Some of your daily duties may include:
- Coordinating land access and permitting requirements
- Developing drilling, sampling and assay programs
- Supervision of the geological field works
- Developing ore body database and computer 3D model
- Interpretation fo the results and resource estimation
- Coordination with mining engineers to develop mine plan and production schedules
- Coordination with metallurgical personnel in ore characterisation
You will need to be tertiary qualified in geology, or another relevant discipline. You will also need 12 years experience as a geologist, 5 of which has been in a senior position. Experience in iron ore is highly advantageous.
Salaries will be commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $120k - $150k + benefits. Salaries outside this range will be considered for people with exceptional skills.
