A great opportunity exists for an experienced Helpdesk / Desktop Support Engineer to join this respected CBD based organisation.
Our client is seeking an experienced Helpdesk / Desktop Support Engineer to provide IT support their internal users. You will be responsible for providing 1st level and 2nd level support across a range of hardware and software products. This includes phone, email and face-to-face support. You will also be responsible for training internal users.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing helpdesk and desktop support
- Troubleshooting hardware issues (including laptops, printers, copiers and scanners)
- Purchasing hardware and software
- Setting up and installing hardware and software
- Troubleshooting software issues (such as Windows XP and Microsoft Office issues)
- Troubleshooting and maintaining other in-house software applications
- Maintaining documentation for all IT procedures
- Training internal users
- Preparing IT training documentation and delivering training sessions
- Maintaining the internet and intranet
- Graphic design duties including ensuring that all Word templates have been formatted correctly (and formatting and creating templates)
- Managing backups and file maintenance (such as maintaining and deleting files)
- Suggesting ways to improve IT processes
To succeed in this position, you will have previous experience working in a similar role (and previous experience working in Helpdesk, Desktop and / or Training positions). Knowledge of the following also required:
- Windows XP
- Microsoft Office Suite
- MS Outlook
- Active Directory
- Hardware (laptops, PDAs, etc)
- Relevant industry experience combined with appropriate Microsoft qualifications highly regarded.
An experienced Helpdesk / Desktop Support Engineer, you will have solid problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service focus is a must. You will also have strong follow-up as well as strong documentation skills.
