Our client, an emerging Western Australian mid-tier resource company with interests in gold and rare earth metals, has a requirement for a Senior Geologist to be based in the Perth office, with field work as required on a campaign basis. This is a permanent role and the Company will meet the current market on salary expectations. The Senior Geologist will be responsible for:
- the supervision and coordination of exploration activities on the company’s lease-holdings
maintenance and control of the Company’s geological databases
- administration of tenements to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
supervision and technical training of staff
Prerequisite Skills:
- Degree (preferably Honours) majoring in geology, from a recognised institution
- Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in the industry, with exposure to mining and exploration
- Computer literacy : MS Office, DataShed, Surpac and MapInfo experienced desired
- Good communication Skills
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological and environmental tasks
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Driver’s Licence
- Senior First Aid qualifications
- Awareness of the relevant legislation including Mining Act, Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations and the Native Title Act
