In this role you will be working closely with the Managing Director and be confident in taking over the day-to-day responsibilities of the finance function. You will manage a team of 8 to 10 staff located at head office and around Australia for all accounting and reporting functions.
You will continually monitor and challenge the finance function identifying issues affecting performance across the business. Strong Excel skills will be useful as you develop meaningful weekly management reports with recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business and the general accounting processes. In this role your opinion will be considered and valued.
The successful candidate will be confident with payroll, superannuation, ATO, GST, PAYG, BAS, workers compensation, AP & AR, fleet management, stock control reporting, intercompany transfer costs, month and year end, profit and loss commentaries, cash flow, budget planning, analytical review and analysis, compliance and complex reconciliations. An understanding of corporate compliance requirements and exposure to Trust structures and their compliance would be an advantage.
Experience with MYOB is important and SAP is also useful. Ideally you have tertiary qualifications and have a minimum of 10 years working with a primary producer or manufacturer and have a clear understanding of these businesses operate.

-Preparing monthly financial reports and provide business analysis

-Preparing and processing General Ledger / Job Ledger Journals and Sundry Invoices
-Interacting effectively in a small team environment
To be successful in this role you must hold a Certificate IV in Financial Management or demonstrate equivalent competence and have experience in general accounting office practices. Well developed communication skills and the ability to negotiate with clients is essential.
