They are currently experiencing a period of change and are looking to secure an experienced draftsperson immediately. Ideally you will have experience in the educational sector and be capable of producing full documentation packages including GA drawings as well as detail drawings and be up to speed on current Australian building regulations. On top of this project experience you must also be proficient in the use of Revit as this practice is looking to use this package more and more.

My client has an outstanding reputation in the design industry for producing cutting edge, unique designs. The firm has designed a number of high profile restaurants, bars and leisure facilities in Melbourne and Sydney and has won numerous awards as a result.
The firm consists of approximately 20 talented Interior Designers ranging in level of experience but all passionate about design. An opening has arisen for a highly competent Draftsperson to take on a leading role in the production of working drawings and detailing. As the projects undertaken by this firm are high end it is essential for the Draftsperson to have a genuine understanding of what it takes to produce high quality design and finishes. Previous experience working within an award winning and highly regarding design firm will be highly regarded.
It goes without saying that a high proficiency with CAD is essential for this appointment. The firm uses ArchiCAD but will consider cross training an outstanding Draftsperson from AutoCAD if necessary. The most important criterion is an understanding of high spec design and the ability to produce detailed working drawing packages.
The role has more to it than just Drafting. There is an opportunity to take on a management role including overseeing and mentoring junior staff members, liaising with consultants and contractors and overseeing the documentation process.

With excellent AutoCAD and other related drafting/office skills, you will have a strong background in drafting of mechanical HVAC services. You will be responsible for the preparation of mechanical services ductwork and pipe work SHOP DRAWINGS, which will be utilised by relevant authorities, the in-house manufacture of ductwork and pipe work, site installation, balancing & commissioning, and for inclusion into maintenance manuals.

You must have local experience and be able to hit the ground running, using your initiative and prior knowledge in the industry. Your role will be diverse and will require 3+ years AutoCAD expertise. You will have a strong work ethic and be able to produce an amazing portfolio with full sets of detailed residential working drawings. Your passion will extend into all aspects of Architecture and you will be extremely familiar with local building codes and practices.
