Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Financial Controller is a middle management position responsible for control of the finance and accounting methods, practices and procedures of the organisation; for the maintenance of controls and accounting records and preparation of appropriate financial reports and analysis.
To be successful in this position you will have:
-Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, together with 8-10 years practical experience.
-Strong leadership skills.
-High level experience in using a computer based accounting package.
-A comprehensive knowledge of the Australian and International Accounting Standards.
-An understanding of the regulatory framework in which TOTE operates.
-A sound knowledge of contemporary management practices.
-The ability to work effectively under pressure and within strict deadlines.

Perkins Shipping is seeking an experienced and dedicated Group Financial Controller to join their busy Finance management team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the successful applicant will be a strong team player responsible for providing assistance to the CFO with the development and implementation of finance policies and projects and maintaining and strengthening relationships with Department Managers and ensuring the integrity of financial information.
Duties include:
- The development and preparation of financial and accounting information for management, board and statutory authority’s;
- Interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of cost, budgets, policies of operations, trends and increased profit possibilities;
- Direct the accounting functions of the company and submits reports reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances and financial results to management;

The successful applicant must also possess:
- CA/CPA qualification and degree in accounting;
- Previous experience as a Group Financial Controller or Finance Manager;
- Strong leadership qualities;
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills; and
- Strong communication skills.

Corporate Tax Accountant

You will be responsible for the preparation of group taxation returns including IAS, FBT, BAS and the consolidated group tax return. Group tax effect accounting entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations of tax balances of group entities is also required. You will monitor changes in taxation legislation, identify impacts on the Group and utilise your intitiative with regard to continuous improvements, providing input into major transactions and strategic decisions, and monitoring risk. Management of tax audits and liaison with external advisors will also be part of your role.
We are seeking an individual who is CA/CPA or similarly qualified and is able to demonstrate the required technical knowledge to perform this role including tax consolidations. You will enjoy the chance to take a high level of responsibility both from a compliance and advisory perspective, and work on an autonomous basis.
