The role will entail a high customer focus by ensuring budgets are achieved or exceeded; sales and gross profits are maximised; costs minimised; policies, procedures and standards are maintained; newsagency management are trained and competent in their positions.
The successful applicant will have experience as a supervisor of a retail chain and / or in newsagency management, which would be highly regarded. The day-to-day operation of the position will have you oversee the newsagency operations across the company; including decisions on costs, sales, profit opportunities, stock management, including returns of magazines, merchandising, loss prevention, occupational health and safety, food safety and hygiene, recruitment of management staff, performance management and development of management staff.

The Data Protocols & Procedures Manager is responsible for CAL’s data processing protocols and procedures and for data processing being carried out according to agreed versions of processing protocols. This senior position offers an opportunity for an experienced professional working with the information management team and cross functionally across CAL to perform a critical role in the organisation and the creative industry sector
Your responsibilities will include:
-Developing and maintaining Data Processing Protocols and Procedures;
-Ensuring data processing meets agreed processing protocols and procedures;
-Aligning protocols with procedures;
-Standardise protocols to minimise processing complexity and increase resourcing flexibility;
-Training staff on protocols, procedures and CAL’s processing system;
-Leading cross functional processing protocol development;
-Being the focal point for clarifying and resolve protocol related ambiguities;
-Managing analysis exercises relevant to protocol issues;
-Working cross functionally to develop processes and tools for protocol related issue tracking and document management;
-Identifying opportunities for streamlining processes and protocols;
-Mentoring and coaching staff on best practice processing;

-Regular reporting to senior management and input to Board reporting.

We’re seeking an editor who can take projects from first client contact through concept and production to delivery.
You will be confident using Adobe Premiere and Creative Suite within the Micosoft Windows environment, be creative and have a at least two years commercial production experience in a broadcast or independent facility.
We’re totally file-based so you’ll need to understand HD and SD broadcast file formats and electronic delivery processes.
An excellent standard of written and spoken English is essential.
A tertiary qualification in multimedia or design is an advantage.
Local Radio’s Rural Department has a vacancy for a highly motivated, multi-skilled program maker to prepare, present and report on the Country Hour in TAS. Working to the Executive Producer TAS, the successful applicant will have advanced presentation and production skills and will present daily rural current affairs for the urban and regional audiences. Working as part of a statewide rural team, with the ability to work independently where required, the presenter/reporter will contribute to program planning and participate in operational and administrative activities as well as report as a specialist for a range of other ABC programs as required.
Selection Criteria:
1. Advanced presentation and reporting skills with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Proven experience in radio with advanced editorial skills and judgement with a demonstrated creative approach to program construction and delivery.
2. Detailed primary industry knowledge and demonstrated high level ability to maintain and develop contacts within rural communities and primary industries.
3. Ability to work under limited supervision with proven capacity to initiate, research and conduct interviews and provide significant input into shaping program and station sound to build and maintain audiences. A proven team player with very good interpersonal and motivational skills.
4. Detailed knowledge of modern broadcast technology including digital editing and online publishing with capacity to develop online content.
5. Good understand and commitment to ABC Editorial Policies as well as Corporate Equity & Diversity and OH&S policies and practices and their relevance to program making.
