Programmer

Our client is an internationally renowned software development company, known for their world leading electronic product catalogues and premium traditional technical publications. They are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programmer.

Reporting to the Development Team Leader and as a member of the RIA development team, you will be responsible for completing defined programming tasks. Main position purposes include: designing and assisting with the implementation of new Rich Internet Applications and assisting with the modifications and improvements of existing Rich Internet Applications.

Responsibilities:
- Migrate existing Flex 1.5 code base to Flex 2.0
- Migrate existing ASP Web Applications to Flex 2.0
- Design and assist with the implementation of new Rich Internet Applications using Flex 2.0
- To assist with the modifications and improvements of existing Rich Internet Applications using Flex

Essential Experience:
- Flex 2 and AS3
- Architecture of an enterprise level RIA
- Retrieval of dynamic data from data sources such as XML, web services, or databases
- OOP in ActionScript and at least one other programming language
- Implementation of an application framework (such as Cairngorm or ARP)
- Implementation of a Unit Testing framework (such as ASUnit or FlexUnit)
- Strong foundation in Design Patterns (especially MVC)
- Strong experience with: XML, XSLT
- Experience developing Rich Internet Apps using Flex, Lazlo, AJAX, Atlas, Google Web toolkit or equivalent
- Experience with one or more server-side web application technologies (ASP, ASP.NET Web Services, SOAP, JAVA, Cold Fusion)
- Experience with one or more Database technologies (T-SQL, MySQL)
- Familiarity with programming practises (Agile, Continuous Integration)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
We have two positions vacant, either contract or permanent - depending on your preference. The salary is well above market rate, the location is Sydney North and project start flexible on your availability.

This will incorporate working with the team in creating and updating automated scripts to: 1. validate the user interface and Web Services in each new product release; 2. validate the consistency in data results across all products; and 3. load test all products and its components. You will also perform monthly maintenance of automated scripts to reflect changes in each of these products.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated extensive experience in automated testing, load testing, J script or C#.NET programming skills and SQL.

Task management, extensive experience with Test Complete and Team Foundation Server will be highly regarded.
