Project Manager

This national service supplier currently has a requirement for a Project Manager to join one of their sites based in Darwin. Working as part of a team to fulfil this client’s contract within the Defence sector, you will hold responsibility for organising and supervising onsite building works.

The role will involve reviewing requests for onsite work, and assigning work to the appropriate sub-contractors as well as taking responsibility for providing sub-contractors with site inductions. You will supervise all work carried out to ensure adherence to timescales, costs, quality and legal requirements whilst ensuring OH&S policies are followed at all times. You will monitor sub-contractor performance and compliance indicators as well as implementing continuous improvement and cost saving measures.

To succeed in this role you will have a strong background in managing contractors / sub-contractors. Preferably you will come from a construction or building management background .
A firm grasp of current Australian Building Codes is required, as is the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

The role:

Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years construction experience with 6 of those in a Project Manager position with the Head Contractor. They will ideally be Degree qualified in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related discipline however individuals from a trade background will also be considered. Previous experience working with the Department of Commerce would also be advantageous.

The Project Manager - Data Product Delivery will bring focus to the delivery of a range of key outcomes that are otherwise difficult for a team with a strong BAU and strategic focus. Activities will range from the management of minor product upgrades and enhancements to establishment and sponsorship of multi-million dollar projects to upgrade or replace network infrastructure. Typical activities will include project definition, business case development, executive communication, project sponsorship, stakeholder management and coordination of internal and vendor teams.

This role has responsibility for the following:
-Maintain a current schedule of all key projects and deliverables and their status for the Data Services Team;
-Ensure all projects and deliverables are appropriately prioritised and resourced in consultation with the Manager;
-Develop and maintain efficient processes ensure effective pipeline management and resource forecasting;
-Ensure all projects and deliverables are clearly scoped and budgeted;
-Work with a range of internal and external parties to develop project costs;
-Develop cost / benefits models;
-Provide input to annual budgets;
-Develop business cases, communicate and present to executive audiences necessary to secure buy-in and project funding with support from the Manager and the relevant product manager(s);
-Define, establish and sponsor Data Services Projects;
-Manage budgets for all projects and deliverables under management or sponsorship;
-Drive internal and external parties to meet objectives and obligations;
-Ensure projects are delivered in line with technology and business strategy;
-Develop processes and governance to accept products and services delivered by projects into operations;
-Provide delivery support and assistance to other members of the Data Services team.

We are searching for a fun, bright and motivated person to drive, implement and project manage accredited training programs specialised to meet our client’s needs. This position will be based at our clients head office location in Brisbane. Training will be delivered in fun, dynamic environments. We like our trainers to show their personality and have style and our project manager will be required to project the same demeanor. In addition they will need to be able to motivate drive and coordinate all activities related to training for our client!

Training will be conducted and coordinated in group and individual sessions. The successful applicant will possess:
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAA40104) (preferred)
-Certificate III in Tourism (Retail travel Sales) (preferred)
-Certificate IV in Tourism (preferred)
-Have the good knowledge of the VET system local and national levels
-Able to deliver drive, implement and project manage dynamic and professional training programs
-Supervisory or Management level experience in Retail Travel Sales and or Retail
-Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
-Ability to self-manage and work autonomously
-Ability to manage and co-ordinate training
-A current driver’s license and a reliable car
-Regional travel may be required
-Weekend and evening work will be required
