Our client has an urgent need for a backend Oracle developer with high competency in optimised PL/SQL within an Unix environment.
You will need to have had significant exposures in PL/SQL and practical Unix scripting at both the DBMS and file handling level.
The current project concerned has much work to be done filtering and sanitizing data prior to migration.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Programmer to join our Unix/Linux Systems team based in Sydney. Under general direction from the Manager of Technical Services, you will be part of a global team working in the areas of administration, maintenance and customization of our UNIX/LINUX systems and their associated software products. The systems in scope are Solaris (SPARC and x86) and Linux (SLES and RHEL).
You will also be responsible for the following activities:
- Investigation and resolution of relevant operating system problems
- Following relevant developments within the IT industry
- Assisting the user population in resolving any technical issue they may raise
- Installation of relevant software products as required
- Recommending changes to enhance stability and performance of relevant platforms
- Assisting more junior members of the team where appropriate
- Manage small internal projects
Desirable to the role will be a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a large, professional IT systems environment; a solid working knowledge of Linux and/or UNIX operating systems, associated platform(s) and tools; strong debugging and problem analysis skills; the ability to manage internal projects end-to-end, and tertiary qualification in computer science or a related field.
